Very often they contain such substances as menthol or compounds like salinic acid alcohol or cinnamaldehyde. Together and separately, they give our lips a quick moisturizing effect, which comes off in just a few hours, leaving behind even drier skin. So, it gets into a looping process where we use lip balms more and more often, just to keep our lips moisturized.
